The Proust Questionnaire is a long standing tradition where the editor of Vanity Fair Magazine asks the most prominent figures of our times, intimate and introspective questions. This feature is one of my personal favorites that never disappoints. When singer songwriter, Johnny Cash, took the hot seat he was asked to define paradise. This bad boy rebel who found his true North with the guidance of love and faith, paints in 6 simple words an image of heaven on Earth. His eloquence and country simplicity warmed my soul and made me wonder, even with no limit to my word count, could I define what paradise is to me as clearly? Doubtful. But as we all journey through life like ants marching in a line, Johnny Cash reminds us that love, paradise, and beauty isn’t found in things purchased but in moments stolen.
